Beach RULES & Information 

Below is a short list of BEACH RULES that all members, and their guests, must follow.  For a complete list of ALL PARK RULES, click HERE.

No Alcohol Policy

ELEIA strives to maintain a family oriented beach. Part of that mission includes a no alcohol policy. Anyone with alcohol in their possession may be escorted out of the park and may be asked to appear before the board. 

Pet Policy

Pets are allowed in the park during the off-season only. Since this is a very busy beach and there are lots of little kids running around we like to be safe and stick to our policy that states pets are prohibited from the Saturday of Memorial Weekend to Labor Day unless going directly between car and boat while on leash. Owners are also required to pick up and dispose of pet waste appropriately. *All State and local leash laws apply on park property year round. 

Parking

Waterford Township has a municipal ordinance that prohibits parking on ELEIA property along the fence on Lakeside Drive, even if it is in front of your house. Please be aware of possible ticketing by Waterford Police. 

Fires

Unauthorized fires at our park are not allowed at any time and are illegal. Although it is very inviting, this includes the pavilion fire pit. Campfires are  only allowed during weekend campouts and must be in raised fire pits due to Waterford ordinances. Members may bring their raised fire pits with gated covers. Proper handling and care while under supervision of an adult as well as proper disposal of firewood and ashes are required.  

Hot Ashes & Coals

ELEIA has numerous grills throughout the park grounds. Members may use them at their leisure on a first-come first-serve basis. Our grills are cleaned out daily by our grounds crew members, please notify the office if you have any concerns or need assistance. 

Lifeguards

Swimming, with or without lifeguards, can be dangerous.  Swim at your own risk.

Our lifeguards work hard to keep us safe. They must do drills to maintain and improve the skills required for successful saves and rescues. This summer, we will continue to do our best to give advance notice of training drills. During the 30-60 minute drills, the high dive platform and swim areas may be closed. Emergency drills are also necessary. We know that this can be unsettling, but be assured; these must remain part of our staff education and training in order to keep a safe swim area. 

ENVIRONMENTAL NOTICE: 

Swimmer's Itch is an itchy rash that can occur after you go swimming or wading outdoors. The itchy rash associated with swimmer's itch looks like reddish pimples or blisters. It may appear within minutes or days after swimming or wading in infested water. It usually affects only exposed skin — skin not covered by swimsuits, wet suits or waders. Causes of the parasite come from seagulls, ducks, geese and beavers. The parasite's eggs enter the water via their hosts' feces. Before infecting birds, animals or people, the hatched parasite must live for a time within a type of snail. These snails (such as zebra mussels) live near the shore-line, which explains why infections occur most often in shallow water. Swimmer's itch isn't contagious from person to person, so you don't need to worry about catching swimmer's itch from someone who has this itchy rash. Swimmer's itch typically clears up on its own within a week. In the meantime, you can control itching with over-the-counter antihistamines or anti-itch creams, such as those that contain calamine. If the itching is severe, your doctor may recommend a prescription medication.

Washing areas are provided outside the bathrooms to rinse off after swimming.
